A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is not typical since I am not a certified teacher. I am creative in my teaching style using a variety of techniques. I understand that each child and person learns differently (Auditory, Visual, Tactile) so I try to discover their style and incorporate as much as possible. I try to teach using real life experiences and examples. I break things down into simple parts before moving on to the next level. I believe that it is important to instill confidence in the student which raises expectations and increases motivation. I am very patient with a good sense of humor.
I obtained my BA in Social Work and have worked in that field since 1993. I am a recent college graduate and I am looking for employment within my field. I have two years experience tutoring an elementary student. I worked with a student in second grade and tutored her in both Math and English. Because her mother and I communicated regularly, she was able to tell me of improvements and areas of subjects that needed more attention. I am very enthusiastic about being able to work with students of any age. As a recent college graduate, I feel that I will be able to relate and connect with all ages of students. Graduated from wright state university in 1993 with a bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering. I have worked the past 16 years in the automotive industry mainly as a manufacturing supervisor. Also, since high school have volunteered abd served on 2 fire departments as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. I enjoy teaching young adults the education and work experiences I have obtained the past 20 years.
I enjoy teaching and working with all of todays youth. My main joy is teaching science and math since they are the foundation of all engineering principles which makes society go forward everyday. I believe teaching should be one that uses the childs minds in discovery and actual examples.
