I like to work with children of all types. I think that anybody has the capability to learn if they really want to. My goal in teaching is to provide the student with the tools to discover and learn new concepts and to apply this knowledge to the learning process. I do not beleive in giving answers, but rather helping the student learn how to find the answers. I am very patient and will go over a concept until it is understood by the student. I enjoy children who are eager to learn, but try to instill a desire to acheive. As an administrator of a school I oversaw the education of children from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I have eight years experience teaching algebra I, five years teaching business math. I have eleven years experience teaching English grammar from third grade through twelfth grade. I have taught fourth grade for three years, fifth grade for three years and sixth grade for two years.

I have been an instructor in the Martial arts for over 20 years, and have taught every age group. I have a talent of putting complex issues into layman’s terms. I am passionate about the subject matter and can transfer that enthusiasm to the student. I use logic, humor, stories and historical references to explain a concept to the student. I believe students will try harder and perform better if the subject matter is simple, interesting and compelling.
