Reading Tutoring with special attention to reading comprehension. Literature selection implemented which would both broaden vocabulary and teach admiration for historic advances in the art of reading and making books. Attending and graduating from Davidson College, a small liberal arts college in NC, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry was an extremely rewarding experience. I found that the college groomed their students by emphasizing analytical skills--both scientific and literary--and giving back to the community through both service and volunteerism. As a college student, I tutored students in mathematics courses up to Multivariable Calculus and chemistry students up to Organic Chemistry. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and young adults. My challenge as a tutor is to take something that is difficult and make it fun and understandable. Too often students look at teachers or adults as enemies, and I try to take a very laid-back, conversational approach when tutoring. Obviously if the child is being tutored in a particular subject, there is an obstacle or a problem in that area so it is important to build the child's confidence and show them that they can succeed.
