Patient and Friendly Tutor!

I try to engage my students in every way possible. Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Pictures, music, relevant historical information- anything to help facilitate learning.

I graduated with a BA degree in Music Education, and have eight years of experience teaching in public schools. I began my career as a music teacher at the middle school level, but soon realized that I had a passion for younger children. I began teaching 5K, and excelled at leading my students to becoming fluent readers by the end of their kindergarten year. I taught kindergarten for 5 years, and then was asked to teach second grade.
