At the University of Alabama, I taught the lab component to Intro into Biology for Non-majors under Dr. Tom Graham and histology under Dr. Jane Rasco. I completed all course work for a masters of physics at University of Alabama at Birmingham, only lacking the thesis. G.P.A. at the end of the course work was 3.65. Along the way, as I finished the graduate course work (and in order to pay the rent) I did ad-hoc tutoring with a number of undergrad students along with a more formal semester of 'coaching' a class of undergrads in their regular physics class. Admittedly, I have no direct (structured) teaching experience. However, I have nearly five years of experience in the journalism field, and during that time I've mentored a number of fledgling college and high school journalists. And while journalism and political science are my two specialties -- given that I have degrees in both -- I also have a fair amount of expertise in the tangential fields of English and History.
I do not have a particular teaching style because I don't believe that a single method works for everyone.
