I had my education evaluated and translated in the United States, which gave me an equivalent to a BS and an MS. I am patient yet firm. My personal background in mathematics was fairly rigorous, so I always make my students show their work. As the subject material gets tougher, it becomes more critical to be able to check all stages of one's work. One of my math teachers gave me some sage advice: "Math teachers are lazy. We find the quickest and shortest route to a solution." I've taken this tongue-in-cheek wisdom to heart in my own way. While there is only one single solution for any math problem, there are infinitely elegant ways to arrive at that solution.
