I'm in my senior year of High School, I have worked with my siblings on their school all of my life. I've helped my little brother who has ADHD with his homework, I've worked with him through book projects, spelling tests, history homework, pretty much anything and everything. I'm also very talented in the English area, writing and grammar specifically. Can write with both my right and my left hands, I work well with children no matter the age.

A Little Bit About Me...

From 1980-1989 I worked as a Program Coordinator for a Developmental Achievement Center for mentally handicapped adults. My responsibilities included teaching, preparing learning materials for basic reading, personal finance, and vocational skills, implementing behavior programs, supervising 7 staff members, and writing quarterly lesson plans and progress reports. I also spent a couple of hours per week for 2 years, tutoring my blind supervisor on the use of computers. In 1992, I went back to college to pursue my true passion, and earned a degree in mathematics and computer science. During this time, I volunteered a couple of hours per week tutoring secondary students in math, and elementary students in reading. During my undergrad studies at UWRF, I was sponsored to become a tutor in the Writing Center on campus. There was a prerequisite practicum, but it was very hands-on learning. I worked with students from a variety of backgrounds (ESL, freshman comp, MS candidates, etc). At Metro State I participated in a semester program teaching English in Puerto Rico, for which I received the ESL certification. I also TA'd for Writing and Designing for the Web.
I am a very adaptable teacher--I can easily pick up on a student's needs and abilities, and work to their strengths in that way. I enjoy not only helping them learn, but also their backstory and considering how it affects their learning style. I also have an innate love of learning, and feel that it's a great gift to help someone realize their own potential.

A Little Bit About Me...

As an aerospace engineering student at Embry-Riddle, mathematics comes quite easily to me. I enjoy solving and creating mathematical problems. At Embry-Riddle I quickly became known as the "go to" guy for all math related questions. Within the first two weeks of the first semester I was leading a Calculus 2 study group and retained my position as such until the end of the semester. While the study group dwindled in size for Calculus 3 I did still lead the group.
I enjoy teaching mathematics and biology. If the student is willing to learn in some fashion I can help him or her. I tend to teach by examples for mathematics and for biology I teach in a lecture style, answering questions in-depth when necessary. In both fields I can give in-depth explanations for concepts. I have two Master degrees along with a Bachelor degree, with particular teaching emphases in History and English grammar and composition. I have experience teaching English, tutoring international students, and, I recently served as a weekly newspaper columnist for two years.
