My comments on tutoring Physics : Took several courses as an undergraduate in physics and received A grades.

I am a former Geology student at SUNY Cortland who graduated May 2015. Throughout my career I have proven my strengths in knowing, understanding, communicating, and sharing Geology/Earth Science. In high school I took basic Earth Science earning a 100 as a grade in the class and also received a 100 grade for the NYS Regents Exam. I continued this in college graduating Magna Cum Laude with multiple appearances on the president's/dean's lists and earned several awards for success in Geology. I also was vice president of Geology Club for 2 years. Most importantly, I was a teaching assistant for the Earth Science portion of the integrated Earth Science/Biology course at SUNY Cortland for 2 semesters. In my experiences, I have found the best way to fascilitate the learning of mathematics is through visual instruction via a whiteboard and/or blackboard. After the student sees an example of a problem done, I like to sit down with the tutee and have them walk me through the problems to make sure they have a good understanding of both the way to do the problem as well as a stron conceptual understanding of the material.

I am a firm believer that teaching style should encompass diversity of instruction and assessment because the students themselves are very diverse. I will begin each lesson with an agenda and an intended learning goal. Instruction of the lesson will be delivered through a variety of media including text, videos, animations, etc. that would enhance the student’s learning. While working for Professor Weiss at the Pennsylvania State University as an undergraduate researcher for four years, I gained experience in scanning tunneling microscopy, self-assembled monolayers, molecular electronics, and nanotechnology generally. I independently designed and carried out experiments relating to thermodynamics, scanning tunneling microscopy, and self-assembled monolayers.
