Elementary Vocabulary Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Friendship, OH

Working on vocabulary does not have to be boring. I teach students to sort, categorize, and organize words according to spelling, structure, parts of speech, etc. There are many kinds of games and exercises to do with vocabulary in order to both learn and spell the words. To take ownership of new vocabulary, we can make up funny stories spontaneously and tell those stories to each other. I've got around 8 years of college and university work under my belt, and I am getting ready to finish a BA in Elementary Education from Western Governors University. I love teaching. I believe every child can succeed in school. Every child has the ability to reach his/her highest potential, even those who are struggling. Throughout my experience at Otterbein, I worked in a variety of classrooms ranging from a Preschool to 3rd grade. I have experience in both suburban and urban schools working with children of varying abilities and skill levels. I completed my official Student Teaching experience in a Kindergarten classroom in a suburban school in the Westerville City School District. Outside of Otterbein, was also a volunteer literacy tutor for a 3rd grade student in the Westerville City School District.
