I am a graduate student. I have a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science. I plan to apply to medical school the next application cycle. I have five younger siblings who were home schooled. I have tutored students from the age of 5 to 65, from elementary through college. My masters degree will be in education.

I can adapt to the needs of the students. I have attended the top Arkansas prep school since middle school(Episcopal Collegiate). I never had enough time to tutor because of sports, but I tore my meniscus this august so I am free now. I tutor my little brothers(one is mentally disabled)when they need it, and I have tutored only a couple others. My best subjects are government, economics, History(all), and English.

I really enjoy helping children and teenagers discover new things through education. I am the oldest of five children and I have helped my siblings in practically every subject area over the last 10 years. I am a very patient because I know that everyone has different learning styles. Once a child's learning method is identified, he or she will really start to meet their potential. I graduated in 2007 from the University of Arkanas with a degree in Political Science. Currently I am a legislative analyst for the state of Arkansas and work daily with legislators to pass legislation. I also have experience teaching conversational English as a Second Language overseas to Chinese English-teachers. My strengths are writing research papers and essays. I have extensive experience with government and any social sciences.

I have tutored most subjects in both in middle school and high school. My most recent experience was tutoring psychology and spanish at the college level. I do not hold a teaching certificate, but I do love to teach. I always adapt my teaching style to fit the student. I am willing to do just about anything to help a student learn a subject, so long as that student is as dedicated to learning it as I am to teaching it. It takes two people working together in order to have a sucessful tutoring session.

While enrolled in the teacher certification program with Hendrix College, I mentored/tutored an eighth grader in various subjects. I enjoyed the one-on-one experience thoroughly and quickly returned to tutoring at Arkansas School for the Blind. During my three years of employment with ASB, I improved ACTAAP reading scores of two students with reading/learning impairments after one year of tutoring sessions from Below Basic to Basic.
