I am a retired school teacher that misses teaching children.I taught in a NJ public School for over 30 years. I actually taught in the same school district I attended as a child. My expertise is in 5th & 6th grades, but am available for grades 2-8. I have some science background and taught technology also.
I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences. I firmly believe "every child can learn" as long as you teach to their learning style. My daughter is following in my foot steps and will start her first teaching job in September. I truly believe if we show a child we care they can learn anything!

In 2006 I was at my final step of reaching my BA in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English with only having left to complete my student teaching, but was taken by another opportunity. I moved to Japan and teach ESL and ESOL for almost 3 complete years. I taught from all ages two to adults, and learned many new skills, instruction and classroom management techniques, a new language and different ways to engage students in lessons. I have always known I wanted to work with children. I enjoy working in classrooms, as well as in the more relaxed settings, such as summer and after-school programs. I graduated in 2005 from the State University of New York at New Paltz with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and a concentration in Spanish. I have used my educational knowledge as a substitute teacher, working in grades K-12. I have also had the wonderful opportunity to work on a cruise ship for 3 years, starting out in the youth program onboard.
