My style is age-appropriate: I modify my approach to accommodate age, learning level, personality and a combination of abilities and interests. My philosophy is that it is the instructor that should make adjustments on behalf of the student, not the other was around. Any good teacher can accommodate any student with the ability to understand people.
Experience includes teaching in public and private schools prior to and following tutor certification. Research for Tutor Certification focused on the study and analysis of adult learning problems stemming from poor learning and education experienced of youth. Experience tutoring math to elementary age children through adults in college. I have earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, and I am working on completing pre-med requirements at the University of Houston Clear Lake. I have completed 15 credit hours in Biological Sciences with a GPA of 4.0. I also have two years of experience as a community mentor, working with elementary school children.
I enjoy teaching children. I normally have a very relaxed style, but I emphasize setting goals and completing the task at hand. I gain a great deal of personal satisfaction in helping others learn. I believe the most important attributes of a good teacher are, 1. keeping the student's best interest in mind, and 2. maintaining a positive attitude and keeping the learning process interesting for the student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching people of all ages. I understand that some people take longer to comprehend certain subjects, particularly complex subjects like sciences and mathematics. I believe that it is necessary to be patient with people when they don't understand something, even if it takes more time than it usually would. Teaching is one of the most important parts of a person's growth, and I want to be a part of that for someone.
I graduated Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a BS in physics and a minor in mathematics, so I have great experience in physics and mathematics.
