I worked with 5th graders during a Reading and Social Studies student teaching. I also taught first grade for 7 years. The first two years were in an At-Risk class and an Inclusion class. The last four years of teaching, I taught an accelerated first grade class and curriculum. I have tutored all ages of Elementary Students for 4 years in all the general subjects.

Teaching is my passion and my life. There is no other career that I would desire to teach. I am a very firm, but fair teacher. My teaching styles vary depending on the lesson being taught. Hands on activities are very important to me, and I will incorportate them into the lesson as often as possible. Technology is also very important to me. I have recently graduated from the University of Delaware and intend to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry within the next few years. My major was in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry; I also focused on Theatre, Japanese, French, English, and Biology. I spent two semesters as a Teaching Assistant for General Chemistry and held personal office hours for tutoring regularly. I have worked at a learning center teaching students of all ages. In addition, I tutored various subjects in high school including ESL.
I strive to develop each student's interest in the subject at hand. He or she is far more likely to enjoy learning and retain information this way. I follow a method of individual trial and error supplemented with examples and corrections.
