My comments on tutoring Logic : Never taken the course, but have an extensive background in Math.

As a Graduate of Saginaw Valley State University, I have obtained a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry and Minors in Math and Biology. I have gained knowledge in most of the sub-sets on those subjects as well as High School or College entry level in most other academic subjects. I have tutored before as a volunteer, in paid sessions, and have often helped out friends at various educational levels.

I am a certified teacher with masters degree in Mathematics from Central Michigan University. My bachelors degree is in secondary education with major in Mathematics and minor in Psychology. As a graduate assistant in CMU, I have taught College Algebra and Intermediate Algebra courses for two years. I have also worked at Sylvan Learning Center as a MATH/ACT instructor and taught as an ACT prep workshop instructor at Saginaw valley State University. During my undergraduate studies I tutored at Delta College's Teaching/Learning Center for almost 2 years. While working there I received an award for Tutor of the Year. Delta College being a community college with a wide range of students I have worked with students of all ages and backgrounds. I focused mainly in the areas of Mathematics and Computer Science. A Little Bit About Me...

After high school, I recognized in myself a desire to work with elementary- and high school-aged children. I have always been at the top of my classes and was heading for an engineering school before I discovered a love for helping kids. I do not have any teaching experience but I spent many summers working with these age groups at camp and enjoy interacting with them. I feel if that you really want to learn a subject, that you should try teaching it. I am very friendly and laid back. One of the key motivators for learning is the link between theoretical math or science topics and everyday problems that a student can solve using these skills. For example, to help a geometry student understand the significance of the area of a prizm, I asked him to consider how much paint he needs to buy if he wants to re-paint his room. A max/min calculus solution can help select the minimum fence length to create the largest yard for a dog. I also try to approach teaching the same concept from several different angles. Each student will have their own process of internalizing a specific concept and it's just a matter of finding the right path to get him or her to understand.
