Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! My career as a librarian and my experience as a parent provided many opportunities for me to use creative writing skills to write in many areas- including poetry (including embroidering original poetry in wall hangings!)and using artistic techniques to inspire imagination with children in developing their writing skills.
Patient and kind...I like to set specific goals but always encourage creative and imaginative ideas and ways of expression. I can be firm when needed but also like to bring a sense of humor into play, so to speak.
After six years of social work experience as a caseworker for Westchester County Department of Social Services where I worked extensively with families and children with special needs, I returned to college to receive my Master's degree in Library and Information Science. In 1978 I started my librarian career at the New York State Library, as a reference librarian specializing in the humanities, social sciences and legal research.
