My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I can explain math concepts in a very easy-to-understand way. I'm extremely patient and make sure that people follow along with what I'm saying.

I've tutored several people with math and homework problems. They have always reported more understanding from me than their teachers, and were very satisfied with the lessons. The lessons were always in-house, but I am capable of helping online as well. Some were 1 lesson, while others were lessons over the course of several weeks to help prepare and pass exams.

After receiving a degree in Sociology from a New York State University, I went on to earn a provisional teaching certificate in Biology. I have twenty-one graduate hours in Reading and eleven graduate hours in Early Childhood Education. My previous work experience had me working with families where one adult was in need of a GED. i have never taught professionaly, but have assisted fellow students. the methods i useed to help them were ither to incorporate the subject matter into a sumject that they had a personal interest in, or manny time i found that they just didnot understand the language of the subject so i reexplained it in simpler terms and they got it just fine.

This allows the students to get a brief introduction to the day’s material before they work in groups on questions about the material. In my experience, students typically have trouble learning new material because they have not mastered the previous material, which is typically a prerequisite to understanding the new material. I believe with enough time spent on the basics, any student can learn more advanced mathematical concepts. Each student learns in a different way, whether visually, aurally, kinesthetically, subconsciously, or simply by rote. I find that it is necessary to try each option with all students. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time.
