A Little Bit About Me...

I currently work as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Jamestown Community College. I have completed both a B.S. and M.S.Ed in Mathematics Education from SUNY Fredonia. I have taught in school districts in both Cattaraugus and Chautauqua County. My experience includes teaching and tutoring students from 6th grade up to and including Sophomore college students.
I love teaching and working with students. I believe all students can learn, but each in different ways. I am available to help your student find academic success in mathematics. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best mathematics education possible. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. I like to take the time to learn about the student themselves, and try to understand the problem specific to the individual. I think learning should be fun and approached in a way that puts little pressure on the student. A complete understanding requires an environment in which the student can personally relate to on an everyday basis.
Over the course of my education, I have developed a strong understanding of math and science courses. In addition, I have a passion for the arts, psychology and management. Attending both a community college as well as a large 4-year institute has exposed me to a variety of teaching styles. Through this I have learned effective ways to explain and work through different learning styles.
