A Little Bit About Me...

During my last four years I have been given several opportunities to interact and educate students of all ages. Working with the Upward Bound Program I tutored high school students in various subjects. As a varsity basketball player I was frequently in charge of teaching the sport's fundamental skills necessary to younger children. While this kind of education differs from one received in the classroom, I believe that the objective is similar in that students are being taught essential elements of a subject. My bachelors degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry give me adequate knowledge on the material and my grammatical skills have been shaped by the numerous research papers and reports I have written.

A Little Bit About Me...

Having attended three different colleges in my four years toward my degree, I have had a great deal of exposure to tutoring programs and writing seminars. During my senior year in high school, I ran a program called AVID which enabled average students to have a facilitated study hall to help them stay on top of their Advanced Placement classes. In college, I interned for the I Have a Dream Foundation and spent 3 days a week in classrooms tutoring middle and high schoolers. I have had experience in all subjects and especially love tutoring in English and Math.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with a science concentration and upon finishing my student teaching immediately took a full time job completing the remainder of the school year (March-June 2005) teaching middle school math. In September of 2005 I began teaching middle school science and math as well as elementary school science labs at Santa Barbara Christian School. I taught at SBCS for three years and then worked as a clinician for the Lindamood-Bell Learning Program for the summer of 2008. Since then I have been a private tutor working mostly with students who struggle with reading, spelling and comprehension, but I am open to working with students in math and science as well.

I am a graduate from the University California Riverside majoring in biology.
