A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that everyone has a different learning style and that we can never assume that one individual is the same in the way that they learn. In teaching I try to implement different approaches to see which one may work the best and stick to that method. I have found flash cards, memorization skills and techniques as well as a hands on approach to be some of the best methods. I also believe that creating a relaxed and fun atmosphere helps most people retain what they have learned. Also, I am an extremely patient person and I do not mind having to explain things in a way that can relate or better help the student understand. A successful student truly is a successful teacher.

I worked as an English Coordinator in a private school in Mexico City for 16 years. During those years I had the opportunity to lead an average of 20 ESL teachers. I developed courses for training teachers in the use of New Technologies in Teaching. I worked as a freelance consultant for several schools in Mexico City, Israel and Panama. Due to personal reasons, I moved to Israel for 3 years where I worked as a Spanish teacher at the Instituto Cervantes in Tel Aviv and as an English teacher in public schools. In 2009 I moved to the USA where I got married. During all these years I have also given private lessons to students who wanted to learn English, Spanish and the basics for using computers.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved working with students and have been volunteering with them at my church since I graduated from high school in 2006. During my senior year at Ohio State, I began working with an after-school program comprised of bilingual children that live in Columbus, where I started helping kids with their homework (in Spanish and English). After I graduated with my degree in Spanish and Communication, I began tutoring one of my friends for one of her college Spanish courses and got a job giving homework help and running an after-school program for a bilingual school in Ohio.
