A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelors in English from Dominican University. I began A Plus Master Tutoring Center over 4 years ago and was teaching in my home. Now we have expanded to a center in Oak Park and we tutor all ages, from Pre-K to adults. Our subjects range from phonics to algebra. Our teaching styles vary from a 3:1 ratio, which would include up to three students and one tutor, or a 1:1 ratio which would be a private session with a student and a tutor. Session prices range from $25-$27 depending on the type of session. We pride ourselves in being an affordable tutoring center compared with the prices of Huntington and Sylvan learning centers. I attended Northeastern Illinois University and obtained a B.A. degree in Elementary & Special Education, with honors. My first job, straight out of college was as an Educational Consultant. I trained teacher how to us computers to install educational programs for their students. After four years I was transfered to Florida. I resigned after a year and returned to Chicago. Around the mid 80's I relocated to Puerto Rico and work as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher. After two years I returned to Chicago and work in a respite care unit as a special education teacher. I carry diplomas (and who really cares?) from Northern Illinois University in both Political Philosophy and English Literature, yada-yada-yada, and so on and so forth, etcetera, etcetera (graduated 2006).
