As a college graduate I have been driven to do my best to make sure every child is given the opportunity to have the very best education. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught. My experience as a teacher and instructor has been centered around my experience as a musician. Learning how to play and read music drastically helped me in school in all of my other subject areas. I knew early on that I would continue to play music and also that I would want to stay involved with music in some way. My easy going nature and fun personality allows me to make learning interesting. I like to ask questions and get the student involved. I like to get the student engaged as much as possible. I would like to observe the method in which the student obtains the most information and expound on that variable, triggering many senses for better memorization. I had originally moved to Japan to work as a designer, but after a year I started teaching English, which is something I'd always wanted to do. Over the following 4 years I worked at 4 different kindergartens, all of which were affiliated with Sunnyside International (my employer).
