In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. During my study towards at BS in Chemistry I published a paper with a professor doing electrochemical research. I currently work at a small manufacturing company where I purchase raw materials, formulate products, supervise the manufacturing process and check the quality of the end product. Through my studies and work I have learned to apply analytical thinking to real world problems for results. Mathematically, I teach from a logical, or procedural approach. As students work their way up to Calculus and further, it is important to understand the process of problem-solving and not focus on the numbers alone.
