At the University of West Florida I have maintained a 3.6 GPA and have been on the Dean’s List and the President’s List. This is an important achievement. My involvement in a Tutor/Mentor program at an international high school was an experience that was invaluable. What I learned is that education becomes a form of symbiosis. While I taught students how to peer review drafts, articulate ideas, pronounce words, read books; they actually taught me little bit about my own customs, values and beliefs, being an ‘American’ student. It is through teaching others that I learned how I taught myself.
