My teahing style is to include each student in the process of learning. I do this by getting to know their strengths and weaknesses. My students are aware of their individual responsibility and I develop their desire for success by encouraging them to seek out this knowledge. I use a variety of hands-on lessons that makes understanding a concept or a skill easier due to the knowledge they already possess. Throughout my professional relationships I have allowed for "safe" failure so that the sudent is aware when they achieve success. This combination makes the student secure in their abilities. Nothing is better than seeing a huge smile on a child's face once they cath on to something. I love helping children learn by doing a lot of visual activities and practicing! I was always the only person who could help my younger sister study for tests because she said my teaching techinique is very helpful and makes her remember things. It always made me feel good knowing i was the only one who could help her study!
When I first attended Wilmington College, I was in early childhood education. I completed a whole semester of student teaching and volunteered for tutoring after school. I finally had decided that teaching was not for me because I wanted more of an office setting job so i decided to major in business management. I have decided that I want to pursue in subsitute teaching so that I am able to help children and spend more time with my newborn.
