If you can ingite a desire to learn in students, I believe everything falls into place after that. I enjoy placing my student athletes into small groups to discuss for certain periods of time, and then I like to spend the rest of the time talking to them as a whole. I truly enjoy breaking down complicated concepts to students. I use a lot of real world examples that they can relate to, rather than abstract problems. I use a lot of repetition, as I think that the more you repeat a concept, the more one will familiarize oneself with it. Also, I redirect questions back to the student that asked the question (or other students). This helps them think through the question and methodically arrive at an answer, without my intervention. I have found that I have a passion for teaching children of all ages. For that reason, I am pursuing a career in teaching.
