I believe in constructivism. Students learn more when they make their own learning. They need to see the real world application of the material and how it applies to them. I try to create tasks that are hands-on, use authentic materials, and encourage students to collaborate with others and think outside of the box.
I have taught high school in three different countries: Germany, UK and USA. I am passionate about foreign languages and social studies, and I care about my students. It is my intention to broaden their horizons and help them reach their potential as students and as human beings.

I have a BA in Political Science with a concentration in American Government and minor in Philosophy from The Catholic University of America. During college, I worked at the Carbon County Courthouse in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania in Court Administration. I also worked as a Government Affairs Intern for the National Hydropower Association, a Congressional Intern for Representative Paul E. Kanjorski, and an intern for the Innocence Project of the National Capitol Region. Upon undergraduate graduation, I obtained an MS in Criminal Justice with a dual concentration in Federal Law Enforcement and Law Enforcement in Crime Intelligence Analysis from Saint Joseph's University. I come from a teaching family, and continue to learn from teachers myself. I feel that because I am still eager to continue to learn new things, I can appreciate a good teacher. I myself need good teachers, and I would not provide a student with anything but that. I am a hard worker and give 110% for every job that needs to be done. While at college, I was a member of the Americorps program in which I completed over 300 hours of community service. During that service, I had roles as both a student and a teacher. My teaching style depends completely upon the level of the student. I will tailor each session to the student's needs. I am a believer in mastering the basics before moving on to the advanced. I also divide (and encourage the student to divide) materials into more manageable steps, making schoolwork much less overwhelming.
