My experience in teaching is broad and varied. I have taught medical students, other physicians, technologists, as well as teaching at military facilities. In additiom, I have two school age children myself and I believe that I am their primary teacher. A Little Bit About Me...

When tutoring a child or young adult, my goal is to conduct the session in a manner that is student-active. This strategy includes posing leading questions so that the student has the chance to discover the answers themselves and to take credit for their own learning. For example, when presented with work for a problem, I would ask why they chose a certain answer, and follow by asking what their approach was in determining their selection. In this way, I can identify any wrong assumptions or missed steps that occurred in the process of completing an assignment. My teaching style would also include praising small breakthroughs and bolstering a students’ self esteem while continuing to demand their best effort.
