For 20 years I worked for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, as a fifth through 7th Grade classroom teacher. I taught all of the academic subjects in various combinations, sometimes all at once to a self-contained class. The State of Tennessee recognized me as "Highly Qualified" in all subjects, from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. While earning my MA in English, I spent two years tutoring students in English and training/mentoring other tutors. For the last two years, I have been designing and delivering trianing curriculum. I have plans to return to Middle Tennessee State University in January 2012 to earn my PhD in Math and Science Education.
