I have been studying algebra every since the age of 6. While doing community service for the boys and girls club, I learned that I'm great with teaching, mentoring, and communicating with kids! After two months attending Wilmington Job Corps I tutored kids for GED, High School Diploma, and some placement test needed for the program.

My comments on tutoring Drawing : I have a Fine Arts degree from the University of Maryland and have been doing some form of artwork all of my life.

A 30+ year career in the field of Graphics and Design that included a directorship managing several graphics and reproduction departments. In working for the University of Kentucky I was responsible for varied assignments such as audio and video manipulation, web design, and teaching as well as digital illustrations and CD-ROM development. In my most recent job I designed marketing pieces, packaging labels, business cards, and checked art provided by customers to ready it for printing. I am now working on a Web Design certificate from DCAD.

A Little Bit About Me...

When I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in 2002, I accepted a job at a small school in upstate NY that needed a PE teacher. I quickly learned to just relax and "go with the flow" of how the students learned the material and what kind of different activities that we could do to "drive home" the concept of what we were studying. I also learned to be very flexible. I wore many many different hats that first year of teaching which has given me to experience I needed in my recent years of teaching. I am passionate about sports, athletics, history and teaching as a whole!
As I mentioned in the above paragraph, I meet the child where they are in their learning style. I can adapt to how they learn best and then use different activities and tools to again, "drive home" the concept of what the child may be struggling with. I love teaching anything!

I student taught in a kindergarten classroom. I had two different classes and they were all different. They were all on different levels and I needed to figure out were they all were. In do believe that all children can learn, but in there own way. I am the kind of person who is energenic and patient. Each child can reach anything they set their minds to. A Little Bit About Me...

I would say that my teaching style is very interactive. Anyone can give instructions but I love feedback from a one on one situation as well as a group environment. I base alot of my instruction on analogies; when a person can relate an experience or another word to a term being tought, their understanding is broadened and 99% of the time embedded in the longterm memory. That to me is not only developing the ability to draw on a built up knowledge base, but also broadens ones ability to convey what has been learned.
