A Little Bit About Me...

During and after completing my undergraduate and graduate degrees, I spent eight years as a volunteer tutor and three years as a paid tutor. I worked for Sylvan Learning Center in Melbourne, Florida and, most recently, as an AVID tutor for a school district in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I have worked with students in grades K-10 in all subject areas. I earned my BS in Elementary Education from Eastern Michigan University and my MA in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught in many environments under many circumstances. My work as a geometry tutor for a 10th grade enabled me to learn to explore teaching methods that best suited him. As a TA, I reviewed concepts that helped reiterate important biological facts. Because my boss was a Biology Education specialist, she taught us teaching methods like hands-on activities and an inquisitive teaching style that makes concepts stick.
