A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring ever since elementary school. Since I was the only one that knew how to read, I had to assist in the others' learning of Phonetic sounds. I've also tutored fellow classmates in middle school, high school, and college. If I don't know how to approach a certain topic, I ask for the assistance of some of my former professors because they know I'm trying to help other students.
I try to be really patient because I know some subjects aren't very logical to some students.

A Little Bit About Me...

The reason I became a teacher was to transfer my love of music to my students and also to see the joy of their successes. There is nothing like seeing the smile of success on a students face. I care greatly for all students that I have taught and will teach.
I first started to study music when I was 11 years old. I grew a love for the clarinet and played for many years in middle school and high school. In college, I majored in clarinet and also studied all wind/percussion instruments as well as piano. I obtained my BA instrumental teaching degree (K-12) through Western Carolina University in June of 2003. Through the years, I have had the privilage and pleasure of teaching band in a classroom setting, marching band, and private lessons.

Since childhood, I have worked to help students improve their skills at reading, writing, public speaking or any other subject I could offer help with. In May, 2009, I received my BA in English, which allows me to assist with all English subjects, including writing, grammar, public speaking, and literature. I am also comfortable tutoring in Music Theory, Vocal Performance, and Basic Piano and am able to work with beginning French learners on grammar, vocabulary, and reading skills. I have worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for a Sophomore-level writing class and helped students to improve their grade up to 18 percentage points. For example some like to listen, and some like to take notes.
