How the student feels about the subject is affected by perception of difficulty and personal ability, and by perception of importance. I want the student to gain a sense of accomplishment as early as possible in order to establish self-motivation. I work to establish in the student a base of knowledge or experience, and I teach the student how to use that as a springboard for learning further material and solving puzzles or resolving questions. I have grown a desire to work with children since my camp counseling job in 2004. I have been giving many opportunities to work with children due to my college training for a degree in education. I have found the balance between being a friend and authoritative figure with children through all of my experiences with children. I have a master's degree in English plus 21 hours. I taught high school English for 21 years. I now teach online and tutor at the Boys and Girls Club. I have expertise in writing, literature, and grammar. When I was an English teacher I taught English 7 - 12. During those years I taught a total of 21 Shakespearean plays to my five classes.
