A Little Bit About Me...

I taught two quarters at Tiffin University, East Cleveland, Ohio campus a course called "Legal Issues for Managers." I was requested to teach a course via computer, but declined since I was moving to Charrlotte, NC. (2007-2008) Prior to teaching at Tiffin University, I taught at the Academy of Court Reporting in Cleveland. I taught accounting, real estate law, office management and bankruptcy.(2004-2005)
I like to have an open discusion about a topic based upon homework and reading assignments. I use examples to illustrate how accounting items are handled. I encourage questions during the session and will provide questions to see if concepts are undefrstood.

While earning my Masters in Accounting, I voluntarily tutored Undergrad students that were earning their Associates or Bachelors in Accounting. The students were enrolled in the local community college (Central Carolina Tech) as well as the University of South Carolina. I have earned an Associates, Bachelors, and Masters which all have concentration in Accounting.
I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same. I do believe Accounting is a complex field and the student has to have an interest in the field to truly be successful in retaining what they are taught.

Teaching is an art that needs to be perfected based on each individual child’s needs. I am a very demanding teacher, but at the same time always fair and give positive reinforcement while the student is learning and of course, when they have obtained their goals.
