I enjoy teaching. I find teaching methods that will be creative so my students are encouraged to learn. All my students learn at a different level. I provide alot of hands on teaching, which helps to motivate students. Each student has a unique way of learning, they are provided, with visuals, manipulatives, verbal prompts in order to learn the lesson being taught. Each student is on a different level, which means I need to provide individual learning techniques for each student while providing special accomodations for them.
I have been teaching children with special needs for about 15 years I am also an ABA therapist/ Shadow. Presently I am teaching primary grades with ESE students with Autism, LD, ADHD and Behaviors. Our tutors are trained to be able to relate problems to the real world, making them concrete and simple. For example, a question may ask what is 7 times 25? This problem is abstract and challenging to some people. Thus, I rephrase it to, "If you have 7 quarters in your pocket, how much money do you have?" By making the problem more relatable to the student, the problem suddenly appears easier and less intimidating.
