A Little Bit About Me...

My experience includes earning a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and a master's degree in psychology. I worked as a family therapist for seven years with a wide variety of clients including senior counseling, family counseling and grief counseling. I was lucky to have had inspired teachers in my schooling and I want to bring that to every student who I tutor. I consider myself a muse who can bring out the best in others who want to excel. I have learned my grammatical and writing skills through writing research papers, essays, and creative writing. I studied French in France. I have also tutored English informally to French students wanting to expand their language skills.

Working with children has always been somewhat natural to me, probably due to the fact I spent so many of my summers teaching, playing, and caring for them. I was a camp counselor for five summers and my primary duty was the classroom. I was in charge of arts and crafts and teaching lessons/themes of the week. The children I worked with were ages three through eight, and two of the children were autistic. Constructive criticism and co-operative learning learning are very important to me. I feel that visual and kinesthetic teaching methods are the most successful. I am very patient and laid back, but at the same time I will not let any one fall behind and I am determined to find success in every student.
