My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : My Reading experience consists of 8 years in the elementary setting and 6 years in the middle school.

I have taught Special Education within the public school system for 16 years. The subjects targeted have been Math (K - 8), Language Arts (K - 8), Reading (K - 8), Social Studies (K - 5), and Science (K - 5). My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : A strong understanding of what the child reads is a very important base in understanding all subjects.

I received my degree in Early Childhood Development & Child Psychology in 1999. I tutored children from homeless shelters for 2 years. As I began helping & teaching my two daughters in every subject, and saw how well they were doing, I realized I could help so many other children. I then began teaching, tutoring & learning from pre-kinder to high school classes/students from that point to present. As for my daughters, one is a pre-med student in college & the other attends a health magnet. My comments on tutoring Reading Comprehension : I worked as a TAKS tutor in the El Paso Independent School District last semester. I enjoyed working with middle school students on their reading comprehension skills.

Utilizing multiple intelligences to aid in tutoring students is important to helping all students improve their skills in all disciplines. Patience, perseverance and a sense of humor along with supporting not only the student, but the family is very important. Tutoring is a way to address the specific needs of the student when it's not possible to do one on one teaching sessions when the student needs more time on task.
I have been hired recently to teach Creative Writing, Reading and Math in late November.
