A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching people subjects that I understand. My preferred subjects to teach would be anything math, finance and accounting related. My teaching style is similar to coaching; I use positive reinforcement, motivate and lead by example. I look forward to any challenge and helping individuals succeed.
I graduated from high school in 2003 with honors and graduated in 2007 from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Throughout my schooling I have attended multiple classes in reading/writing, science, history, computer/I.T., foreign language, creative arts, business and math. For two years I was involved with the Big Brother program where I worked with an autistic student. I’m currently employed at US Bank where I work as a mutual fund analyst. I’m also on the training committee at US Bank where I’ve been gaining real world experience helping others.

I have twenty-five years experience teaching at the college level. My areas of expertise are Sociology, Criminology, and Legal Studies but my favorite part of teaching is working one-on-one with students on research and writing projects. In recognition of my expertise in this area, my university awarded me the Provost’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research Mentoring in 2007. I have published and reviewed for academia journals and have experience writing and reviewing grant applications. Last year I left my tenured job to move to Wisconsin to be with my family and to develop an independent consulting business. But I really miss teaching!
