I am one class away from getting my bachelors degrees. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching in a hands on style in which the student not only has an algorithm of how to solve a specific problem, but has a thorough understanding of the concepts behind the algorithm. I enjoy having analogies or hands-on activities to demonstrate the concepts. I believe that many times people understand the basic concepts from physics in their daily life, but are frightened by equations. Using analogies or hands-on examples initially reinforces their knowledge and increases their confidence which decreases the fear of equations. Besides reduces fear, it improves their ability to share complex concepts with others in simpler terms.

I obtained a strong liberal arts education where I was able to experience and learn about a wide range of academic topics. However, I have a strong focus and specialization in the sciences with a BA in both Biology and Chemistry with a Mathematics minor. Math and science has been a strong area of mine, as I was a Supplemental Instructor for a genetics course for two semesters, as well as being a Laboratory Assistant that assisted students with questions or problems during genetics laboratory.
