I have recently graduated from Sun Prairie High School with a 3.95 and will be attending the University of Madison next year. I have taken Advanced Placement English this year and have recieved superior grades in that class. During the last 2 years I have tutored regular and special education students in English and Math

I recently graduated with BA of Mathematics from Carthage College, one of the top 10 colleges in the Midwest according to U.S. News and World Report. My tutoring experience includes 3 years of college level and 2 years of high school level. I worked at Carthage as math tutor and department service fellow, and was recognized for my work by receiving the “Outstanding Service to the Math Dept.” award for the 2008-2009 academic year. While tutoring college I covered levels from high school Introduction to Math to college Calculus. I enjoy helping students work through tough problems by allowing them to make mistakes and then rework the problem a couple of times the correct way. Since this is my area of expertise, I am able to come up with examples on the fly that will target the areas most troublesome to the student. Mathematics is a field that requires repetition but making that repetition as interesting as possible is a fun challenge. I do not wish to be a teacher by profession but I do enjoy helping individuals or small groups with science and mathematics.
I have formally tutored with Madison College on two occasions lasting a year. I was also Tutoring throughout my time at Edgewood on a drop in basis with any students that came to the math department and could not reach a professor. I have a BS in Mathematics and doing math at all levels is fun for me.
