I have recently completed student teaching and have earned my teaching certificate as an art specialist. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students at different levels with varying abilities. I have had internships at the high school and elementary levels, with time spent both in the art classroom as well as the special education classroom. After graduating from college with a degree in English, I pursued a career in the corporate field. I did not find it satisfying and yearned to return to school to pursue a master's in education. I began substitute teaching in spring of 2007 and completed my student teaching in December 2007. I have been teaching English since I finished student teaching and have been a tutor at Sylvan for some time. As a seminary student, I gained a deeper respect for the education process and a greater passion for teaching students. During my time at what is now Lincoln Christian University, I gained a respect for the written word as well as a significant knowledge and usage of the English language.
