In college, I in part supported myself by tutoring in math and organic chemistry. I have earned a BS in Biology and a Doctorate in Medicine (but I am retired from clinical practice). My education has given me expertise in the areas of biology, chemistry, math and anatomy. I have supplemented this knowlege with self study in grammar and creative writing. I have won writing contest and have published many letters to the editor. During the last 6 years I have tutored students seeking to obtain their GED, in all subject areas.

I started off college at Mohawk Valley Community College and earned a Liberal Arts and Science degree. I feel that all college students should be well rounded and should take a wide variety of courses. I then enrolled at Utica College to finish my BS degree. Over those two years, I took 18 science courses and most of them were accompanied by labs. It was stressful and difficult but it was something I was determined to complete. I thought I wanted to go to medical school, but later decided against it. Also during my time at Utica College, I conducted medical research with Aspartame and Omeprazole on mice. I spent some time writing these up to be submitted for journals. The instructor and I are on a hiatus from this project. I really enjoy tutoring. I have been told in the past by students I have tutored that I am able to bring the information to their level, helping them to more easily understand the subject at hand. Between the years of 1978 and 1984 I was a monitor and then a supervisor in a small Christian school using the ACE curriculum. They have various programmed learning booklets teaching all of the major subjects. You are actually more of a tutor than a teacher if you work with these booklets. I have experience in the four major areas of learning which are English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. I was with students from first through twelfth grade. While I was college I had occasion to take two years of college level English and also statistics up through 600 level. The English helped when I was writing my Master’s Thesis, it was 120 pages long. My committee found it to be well written. The statistics was the basis for the thesis.
