A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching comes easily to me especially with high school and college age students. I highly enjoy accelerated history, critical thinking and exploring the odd details of history. I tend to be a stern teacher with high expectations for students. This being said, I try my hardest to help students comprehend and understand the material being learned. I am fair and patient with others while also pushing them towards their goals. Outside sources and visual aids often are my strengths and work well to further illustrate the points at hand. I am an avid believer in catering to newer generations learning types as long as they are learning and getting what they need done.

Graduating magna cum laude, I take education seriously where I feel that everyone has the potential to grow and succeed. I have a bachelors degree in social work and a minor in human relations where I was on the deans list/graduated with cumulative average g. p. a. of 3.6. I was chosen as a IV-E child welfare scholar through Saint Cloud State/University of Minnesota where I received additional focus/training in helping children in need. I have had education in the liberal arts/general education and I am familiar with a variety of subjects. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been a substitute teacher for over a year. I have subbed for every grade level and subject. A significant amount of my sub jobs have been math related. I am working on my Master's Degree at The College of Saint Scholastica, in Education. I also have had numerous classroom field experiences through the college, where I have been observed by other teachers and professors. During these experiences, every cooperating teacher has let me use them as a reference. From substitute teaching to my prior career as a correctional officer, I have a tremendous amount of experience turning a bad situation into a good one.
