I am convinced that for students to succeed in their education and in life they must have a firm foundation in reading and writing. Without mastering these basics it is nearly impossible for them to move on to a higher learning level. It is my desire to not just improve test scores, but to inculcate a passion for literature, reading and history. A Little Bit About Me...

My degree in Engineering has given me plenty of experience in math and science. I have also had graduate courses in Physics and Engineering. As a graduate student at UNT, I instructed several physics and astronomy labs and learned first hand what teaching can be like. I have since felt that teaching math and science is a career I want to pursue.
I have always had a passion for learning, and helping others learn. In middle school, High School and College, other students came to me for help with assignments. Knowing what it is like to be a student, I try to see from the students point of view. Each student teaches me their own way to learn. I enjoy learning and hope that I can share that joy with others.

A Little Bit About Me...

Despite a demanding, accelerated academic schedule, during my three years at a competitive private college I voluntarily tutored underprivileged elementary students. In earning my BA in Sociology/Anthropology I became well versed on understanding people from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. I also have a strong background in the social sciences including social studies, history and language arts. My college major also required that I write numerous papers and helped me to develop a strong writing style, as well as a keen understanding of grammar. After moving overseas in 2004, I began substitute teaching at an elementary/middle school for two years.
