As a college graduate with both a bachelor's and master's degree, I have always been seeking excellence in learning. I have, over the years written many papers, reports, and essays, and consequently have learned and used many writing skills in many contexts. I have written academic papers, mental health reports, and sermons. For the past 20+ years in my work as a pastor and mental health rehab specialist I have worked directly with youth and children in a teaching role, healping them to learn about themselves and to express it verbally and in writing.

I have worked with children of all ages in different environments and capacities for the past 20 years. It all started at the YMCA Afterschool and Summer Programs which gave me my first satisfactory feeling for being around young people. That led to substitute teaching and to 6 years in the classroom with 6th graders. For 1 year I taught English as a Foreign Language in Slovenia and Germany. As a sophomore I was chosen as one of Lindenwood University’s History Tutors, a position I maintained until graduation in 2009. My primary responsibilities included: conducting exam study sessions, grading exams and assignments, and providing one on one tutoring (f.e. implementing study tactics, test review, editing). Currently, I am embarking on the pursuit of Graduate School.
The foundation of my academic experience starts with Mrs. Cox, a teacher for over 30 years and a mother of four — my mother. It is through her guidance that I have acquired the patience, tact, and discipline necessary for learning and instructing. As a former military child, I have learned to adapt very quickly to any situation and believe every experience is a learning one. I have worked with both military and non-military with my duties in some jobs included helping people with software and computer skills. My undergraduate degree in Mass Communications strengthened my ability to communicate effectively and sparked further interest in education.
