I prefer to work one on one with a single student, I do my very best to make my student feel comfortable and ready to learn. I learn what the student likes; music, sports, movies, I use these things to relate to the student and then i'm able to relate the learning material to the students favorite things which I think helps them to be more receptive.
I began tutoring while in high school, as a junior and senior I would spend 2-3 afternoons a week at the Middle School helping the learning support classes write book reports. I pursued higher education to the Ph.D. level, most of my experience is based in research but I had the great pleasure of working with students privately and in the University environment. As a private tutor I taught Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology to high school students, helping them to succeed in their studies. In the university environment, I was in charge of training undergraduate and graduate students in the required laboratory skills, teaching them also the basic concepts of Biology and Chemistry needed to perform the protocols. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience in teaching is broad and varied. I have taught medical students, other physicians, technologists, as well as teaching at military facilities. In additiom, I have two school age children myself and I believe that I am their primary teacher. This varied teaching experience allows me to tailor my teaching methods to the students and has allowed me to gain a great fund of knowledge.
I believe that learning is best achieved in a comfortable, nothreatening enviroment. People learn best when they understand the importance of the material being taught, something I strive to convey to my students. While I can easily teach a didactic lecturing style, I feel that an interactive approach often better meets the needs of the students. Ultimately, education is a reflection of the students success and the teacher is merely a means to that end.
