I have a degree from Illinois State, and am almost finished with a second bachelors in secondary English Education. I was a part of the creative writing journal here at ISU, as well as an English and Math tutor for the Boys and Girls Club here in Bloomington Normal. My comments on tutoring Guitar : I have played guitar for 9 years. I am self-taught, and routinely perform around town singing and accompanying myself.

I am a visceral teacher. I like to use illustrations whenever possible, videos, photographs, drawings... I like making connections to things that may seem unrelated - I think this strengthens neuro-pathways and thought processes. I also think that laughter stimulates learning, so I like students to feel at ease - I will make myself look dumb if it will make someone laugh and relax.
I am a natural teacher - it's what I do when I'm not getting paid. I just like to share knowledge of what, why, when, where, and how. I like the process of learning, and it is a privilege to get to witness, or even positively influence, that process in someone else.
