In 1993, I entered my career in language acquisition by volunteering as an ESL teacher in the newly freed former Soviet satellite state, Latvia. During my high school years I would volunteer to help children through various charities and church. When I attended college I became an Early Childhood Education major and volunteered in preschool and elementary schools. During my Student Teaching in Des Plaines I was in complete control of a Kindergarten classroom and later a 2nd Grade class.
