While going to college at the UW – Eau Claire, I've been a math and statistics tutor for the past four years. I've also been a Teacher’s Assistant for a statistics Professor where my duties consisted of running review sessions for the class before quizzes and exams along with grading homework and exams. I have completed four statistics courses dealing with different areas of statistics. I also have experience in one-on-one tutoring. Over the past four years I’ve tutored seven students individually meeting at the library to work. Last year, though, I worked with a student who had Cerebral Palsy. I am an easy going individual who attempts to make learning fun and relate it to real life examples. With physics and calculus, there are many instances when assignments can be very difficult to comprehend because it's difficult to see how a derivative or integral relates to real life situations. I do my best to try and simplify difficult problems into easy steps that a student would already know. I feel that the best way to fully learn something though is to do it yourself. I have a BS from the university of wisconsin oshkosh. My area of study was Professional chemistry with a biochem emphisis. I have taken courses in physics, materials science, biochem, molecular and cell biology, organic chemistry physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, ect. I have 3+ years of experience working as a process chemist in a manufacturing and research and development setting.
I have some experience as a swimming instructor as well as a privet tutor for a non traditional student who was having a hard time grasping the concepts of all science not just chemistry. I have always enjoyed discussing science related topics in an acidemic and professinal atmosphere.
