I have a deep passion for the sciences so my bachelor’s degree in biology was a natural fit. I discovered while working in a graduate program that I also love to teach. I had the opportunity to teach real world science to high school students, which I enjoyed immensely. I learned a lot about different teaching styles and took a course in inquiry learning. There are many buzz words and phrases applied to teachers and teaching styles. While I perfectly respect all of these new theories and methods of both teaching and learning, it must not be forgotten that each student is unique in their style and commitment. Otherwise, they would not need tutoring! Creativity and patience are the keys to discovering the specific style that best suites the student. That being said, I do of course have a "style". A Little Bit About Me...

I believe all children have the ability/aptitude to learn the information given to them, but it's the way that information is presented that will stay with your child forever. I feel it is my job to not only present this same information to your child in a new way, but to, in essence, teach your child how to learn and teach themselves. Almost all Math processes can be broken down into steps, and putting those steps together, like climbing stairs, will get your child to the top.

I started tutoring math when I attended Faulkner State College. I then attended the University of South Alabama where I tutored math and physics. I have tutored all levels of math and also tutored not only physics, but lab activites as well.
I have always been a quick learner when it comes to mathematics. It is something that comes almost natural to me. With that said, I understand that this is not the case for everyone. I feel that a good majority of people hate math because they don't understand math, and because they don't understand math right away, they don't try to understand it. I had a wise professor once tell me, "Math isn't difficult; there is no such thing as difficult math. It just seems difficult because you haven't learned it yet". I think math can be easy for anyone, they just have to learn it first.
