A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching mainly K-8 on a consistent schedule, I have learned that some students need one-on-one teaching. Being the third teacher in Head Start, I had time to work with individual students. All children were very well prepared for kindergarten. The older children, including High School and Middle School, I would walk around the room and aide them when they were confused. I also had them read the text orally taking turns and we would do the work sheet to prepare for quiz, test or new chapter. I am very patient with those who are truly in need of assistance. I have tutored in the past in phonics for those having difficulty reading and pronouncing letters.

I began teaching figure skating in high school from there I went on to tutoring math. As a freshman in college I tutored upperclassmen in calculus. I graduated with an Elementary Teaching Degree from a small university in Michigan. Immediately, I went south to New Orleans to assist in the application of an after school program for inner city students. After this semester, I moved to Accra, Ghana in West Africa for three years. The first half-year, I was with a local school assisting in a classroom of 44 first graders. For the next two and a half years, I taught at an international school.
